PY Agronomy is looking for alternate control solutions for inaccessible areas with new technologies such as Drones.
Currently, under the conditions we face, access to the ground for many growers has been impossible for many months, and we are evaluating the effectiveness of the drones by way of control and efficiency for future use.
We can see Drone technology is used for many facets of agriculture, including:
Spot spraying- targeting specific weeds in crop or pasture
Plant population
Broadacre spraying
Salvage weed control
Weed identification and management in difficult terrain
This week the team at PY AG are focusing on fallow spraying on areas of a client's property that cannot be accessed by ground (videoed above).
Why Invest in Drone Spraying?
Spraying with a drone has proven to be faster than traditional methods.
We can cover larger areas in less time, thus reducing time costs and chemical usage.
Not all paddocks can be treated by ground due to a variety of circumstances, and drone spraying is able to treat paddocks with precision promptly.
This month we will be utilising drone technology in irrigated corn to provide us with plant population maps. Stay tuned for the update.
