PY AG's Annual Knockdown Trial a success

A significant issue that has developed this year is ryegrass development and knockdown. It's been forthcoming since 2020, with this year being the most consistent.

The double knocking was an opportunity of few and far this year. In some areas, chemically, we are running out of options. Many growers are questioning the future of grain growing in some portions of their properties due to ryegrass issues; PY Agronomy is hopeful to come up with alternate options.

The cost of knockdowns also added to the angst of many growers, given that surviving ryegrass is a major concern.

Our annual ryegrass knockdown trial has seen some interesting results late in the season.

The team is looking at alternative control options in known glyphosate-resistant populations.

Some excellent results are coming from unexpected mixes that will play a significant role in cleaning up dirty fallow paddocks this late in the season.

PY Agronomy is in the works of a crop sequencing cycle that will be rotated yearly to see where we find solutions for weed management. We are eager to team up with local farmers to get this off the ground over the next 12 months.
