Peter Yelland

Principal/Senior Agronomist

Peter has over 16 years of experience working with farmers in Central West NSW.

From the time he could steer the ute for his father to feed out, Peter has been involved in the industry. After gaining his degree in Farm Management at the University of Sydney in Orange in 1999, he returned to the Central West, and his career as an agronomist blossomed.

Peter has a proven practical approach to his business, specialising in broadacre cropping, pasture, research development and trials and grower education.

Since launching in 2014, Peter has grown his business to 4 employees, turned over 50 projects annually and continues to have strong ties to his clients that have lasted over two decades.

Luke Frecklington

Senior Agronomist

Luke, PY AG's Senior Agronomist, is a Parkes local who offers our clients a great perspective as a local farmer.

Luke grew up on a family farm in Parkes and has always been passionate about land management. From a young age, Luke knew his calling was outdoor-related and never envisioned his life in an office. During a high school work experience with a local agronomist, his interest in agriculture grew. Once completing his studies at CSU Wagga, he gained extensive experience in agronomy around the Central West.

Luke's favourite part of the job is the variety PY Agronomy offers and the attention to detail we provide our clients. He even enjoys the odd Friday 5 pm call to pull Johnny out of a bog.

If he's not working, you will find him playing squash or travelling on the weekends to hike.

John Monk

Agronomist

John is one of PY AGs talented Agronomists.

John grew up on a mixed sheep and cropping farm in Mendooran, located in the Warrumbungle Shire. John's inspiration to become an agronomist draws back to his personal life, where he spent his early life working on his family's farm. His passion for helping other farmers drove him to become an agronomist.

John's favourite part of working at PY AG is the reliability we offer our clients, assuring that the same familiar and friendly faces are here to stay.

You will find him playing rugby on weekends or lending a helping hand on the family farm when he's not working.

Nick Allwright

Field Specialist

Nick is the newest member of the PY AG team.

Having completed a Bachelor of Farm Business Management in 2011, Nick returned to the family farm at Ouse, Tasmania, where he spent 10 years managing a mixed irrigation, dryland cropping and grazing property. He then spent time in and out of spray rigs in Central NSW, dealing with a variety of weeds, gaining practical knowledge of chemistry that is leading the marketplace.

Nick’s decision to join PY AG was an easy one, as he’s passionate about the future of agriculture and utilising technology to support our clients in achieving their goals, right across the Central West.

On weekends, you will find Nick in the great outdoors, helping his partner on their property at Canbelego, Western NSW. Whether rounding up cattle, farming or tending to the land, Nick is always up for a challenge and ready to make a difference.

Mikaela Dawking

Admin

Mikaela is our admin team member.

Despite hailing from Sydney, Mikaela’s roots are in the country, born and raised on a hobby farm in Lithgow. After gaining a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, Mikaela worked as a Dietitian, providing personalised and practical nutrition advice to support her clients to make the right decisions. However, she always wanted to move back to the country, work with farmers and support her community.

Mikaela has a can-do attitude, is meticulous to detail and is motivated to help people, which makes her the perfect fit for supporting our team, our clients, and various stakeholders, from the ‘grass roots’ up.

On weekends you will find Mikaela exploring the Central West, keeping active at the skatepark, and catching up with friends.
